Migrant Labor Radio Website Launched “Information on MLR’s radio broadcasts for Shan-Burmese migrant workers now accessible via website”

On January 11th, 2013, Migrant Labor Radio (MLR) in association with the Human Rights and Development Foundation (HRDF) and its Migrant Justice Program, Chiang Mai (MJP-CM), launched its website at www.migrant-labor-radio.org. The MLR website describes in detail its mission to provide critical human rights and labor rights information to marginalized Burmese migrant populations in Thailand through radio broadcast. MLR’s pilot program is a tri-weekly radio talk-show in broadcast on both an AM and FM frequency in the Shan-Burmese language; the show’s express purpose is to familiarize its listeners with Thai labor law and migrant labor policy. It is the only show of its type to broadcast not only across all of Thailand, but into areas of Shan State, too. More information about the show can be found on the Current Projects page of the MLR website: http://migrant-labor-radio.org/current-projects-shan-migrant-radio-talk-show
