Songkhla Provincial Court scheduled the reading of the Supreme Court decision on the case of a Rohingya victim of trafficking (Black case No. KorMor.2\/2559, Red case No.1100\/2559), on\u00a0March\u00a08 2018<\/u>.\u00a0According to the conviction previously made by the Court of First Instance and later upheld by the Court of Appeal, the former member of Satun Provincial Administration Organization is sentenced to\u00a022\u00a0years and\u00a06\u00a0months imprisonment for conspiring with three persons or more in committing human trafficking act and for committing such offense with two persons or more while holding a position as a member of local administration organization, and for bringing persons into the country illegally. Also, the Rohingya victim of trafficking is awarded compensation of\u00a0126,900\u00a0THB. The authority was informed that an exchange between the Rohingya migrant and the sum of 60,000 baht was going to take place, as relatives of the victim had been asked to bring forth the money for ransom. This case expanded the investigation and arrested a group of trafficker in Songkhla and Satun<\/p>\n
